Hi Gurus,

I am facing a problem while loggin to BTEQ. My Purpose to write a script which will be scheduled in CRON and which just merely exports data from Production Environment and imports the data into DR environment. I am using this through BTEQ as the underlying tables are quite small.

General Syntax for BTEQ as per my understanding is .logon <dsn/tdpid>/<user_name>,<password> . This will just help me with loggin in.

But receiving error in this step.

Please refer to the below snap [ Although taken from Windows host, same o/p is received in Linux host]
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>bteq

 Teradata BTEQ 13.00.00.03 for WIN32.

Copyright 1984-2009, Teradata Corporation. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Enter your logon or BTEQ command:

.logon localtd/tduser,tduser

.logon localtd/tduser,tduser

 *** Error:  Invalid logon!

*** Total elapsed time was 1 second.

Teradata BTEQ 13.00.00.03 for WIN32. Enter your logon or BTEQ command:

However, if i ommit the password section and then feed in the password when it prompts, the login is successful.

.logon localtd/tduser

.logon localtd/tduser

Password:

 *** Logon successfully completed.

*** Teradata Database Release is 13.00.00.12

*** Teradata Database Version is 13.00.00.12

 *** Transaction Semantics are BTET.

*** Character Set Name is 'ASCII'.

*** Total elapsed time was 1 second.

BTEQ -- Enter your DBC/SQL request or BTEQ command:

Not sure, if i need more understanding in this field. Can you please suggest a workaround for achieving this.
